AMC Newport Centre 11

I was trying to enjoy a good time with my wife, we chose a horror movie that looked good.
We were a little hungry so we got a Jambo Juice on the way in, when we saw the huge sign NO OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED. So we thought: ok then, let's say that this is "standard" (even though they didn't have any similar product).
So we drank it up and went in, when for my surprise, a guy accompanied by his wife, a baby cart and his 7 year old went inside the same theater we were going to!
The movie was R rated, so both kids shouldn't be there. But the real issue was the baby: even though he/she didn't cry, he/she was moaning frequently, confusing with the sounds of the baby of the movie itself (the movie was THE WICTH).
After the whole movie fiasco, I went outside to make a complaint, when I saw by the cashier, in very small letters: NO KIDS UNDER 6 IN R RATED MOVIES. Now, I'm not sure if babies are allowed in cinemas, but I'm definitely not going back to that theater, I'd prefer to get a bus to go to Secaucus Kerasotes, even if it's farther.

I had the extreme dissatisfaction to use this theater (after a renovation, I assume) to see The Witch. The employees were generally slow and unresponsive. I was also surprised to see assigned seats: I chose seat A1 and went into the theater. There was a man in my seat who also put his stuff on the seat beside him; I saw people sitting wherever they wanted so I did as well. Two women came and rudely pushed me out and told me to tell the man off; I went over to do so and he was exceptionally rude and told me to get lost. I wandered the theater from seat to seat until finally when the lights went down I got one of the wheelchair seats.

Several people showed up late and actually KICKED PEOPLE OUT of their seats. One man showed up 30 minutes into the film and told a couple to move (I assume he bought two tickets). The couple, as well as at least 5 or 6 others, left the theater without a refund. The couple I heard say they will never go back to the theater again. There were people STANDING IN THE AISLE or SITTING ON THE FLOOR watching the movie.

AMC: if your goal was to steal money from patrons, you succeeded. If your goal was cut in half the number of seats per movie showing, you succeeded (my seat didn't even work). And if your goal was to lose large amounts of business, you have succeeded. I wish you absolutely no luck whatsoever.

Best theater in Jersey City. Easily mass transit accessible by Path and Light Rail. Ample parking day or night ($2 fee). Food court makes dinner and movie in the mall dates very easy. Recently renovated (Jan 16) with reclining seats!

Wow--in a word the new renovated AMC Newport theater is amazing! I was excited to learn that the AMC Newport Center movie theater was undergoing renovations. I'm an avid movie goer. I have visited this movie theater for several years. Many of the seats had become old, broken and rundown.

What a job well done! Hats off to AMC Newport Theater the end results are fantastic! The very comfortable, plush--well designed reclining seats are the star of the theater! There is plenty of room to walk not having to worry about anyone bumping your seat even in the reclined position. The staff are incredible too! Welcoming, friendly and kind people providing service with a smile. I love it and look forward to returning again and again and again! It's my designated theater for sure! It's the best!

Projector broke, waited 15 mins before anyone said anything. Wasted concession Stubs rewards and was only given one pass for next movie. It was an inconvenience and bad customer service. Also, the sound from the neighboring theater's sound bled into our theater, poorly built rooms. Lastly, they allow babies into late movies! Go elsewhere.
