I advise brides against shopping at Alexandra Boutique. I made the mistake of ordering from here and was only caused undue stress during an already stressful time. The owner is dishonest. He told me he could "rush-order" my dress from the dress company for an extra charge. However, I later learned from two other authorized retailers that my particular dress designer does not have, nor does it charge, a rush fee. Unfortunately, I found this out too late and was cheated out of almost $100 by Alexandra.
I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from a different retailer, who provided me with confirmation of my order via e-mail, a UPS tracking number, and only charged me in full when the dress actually shipped. This is how it should be done! By contrast, I paid Alexandra Bridal in full when I ordered my dress and received no confirmation, no tracking number, and overall mediocre service. When I requested an update on my estimated shipping date the owner refused to call. He told me they were busy and had to get back to me. I wish I had known that customer service would disappear after the store had all my money.
My advice to brides is to shop elsewhere! There are plenty of bridal stores in NY where the owners will tell you the truth and treat you with respect. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, and shopping for the dress should be an enjoyable experience.
