We just arrived in NYC after a cross-country flight and were absolutely starving. Cross that with a healthy affection for tequila and we found Anjeo Tribeca. It was between lunch and dinner and the place was quite empty so it was nice that the staff were extra attentive and helpful, impassioned even, in helping us select the best items from the menu.

If I lived in NYC this would be a regular favorite without a doubt.

It must have been an off night for them. Service was... Really non existent. It was strange, like all but 1 of the wait staff walked off the job? The hostess took our orders, the 1 thing we ordered from the person who I think was our waiter didn't arrive. We might have felt a little better had someone said, "hey, sorry about this, we are really short-handed tonight."

Salsa Quattro (all four of their salsa offerings) = about 4 tablespoons of salsa. OK, maybe I'm not used to NYC sized portions, but come on! Tacos and rice and beans side were good, I bet the actual entrees are what we should have ordered. Sorry, but $for$ that was the worst salsa experience ever. Even the square shaped plate (with 4 inverted triangle dipping areas) made it impossible to actually get salsa on a chip! To the owner; throw those plates in the trash.

Here's a good policy for patrons of any restaurant, if no one acknowledges your presence for a full 15 min, get up an leave!

You like Mexican food? Why not try anejo Tribeca. The food is delicious and they have creative cocktails. Staffs are super friendly and professional. Everyone must go to their brunch, must get the pb&j torta.

Service was super fast, wait staff really polite, and food was top notch, not small portions and reasonably priced. I had the agave margarita, went down fast..

Saw Leo Kottke here Sunday night.

Great venue - nice and small and great sound throughout. Seating is a bit crowded and the tables for 4 are really 2-tops. Food is ok - not great by NY standards, but not bad.

I got a single seat - picked a Premium seat at a table for four (other 3 seats taken) facing the stage with my back to an aisle (so I could stretch out if needed. Glad I did - the seats in between the tables were so crowded the people facing away from the stage couldn't turn around.

Got a cocktail (Hendricks Gin martini), a salad, brussle sprouts side, and a bottle of wine to share with the table mates - came to about $100. Ticket was only $40 (good price) but if you tack on a meal and wine it can add up - so be prepared.

The do take the "no pictures" seriously. Saw a big bouncer walking around and approach a few persons who took cell phone pictures with no flash. The bouncer basically told them something that made them put the cell phones away for the rest of the evening.

Overall - very nice experience. I would definitely go back.
