Amina helped me begin my dreadloc journey, almost a year ago. If you know anything about dreadlocs you know that the process [of washing, drying, re-twisting] can be messy and frustrating. However, the patience I did not have for my hair, Amina did. She suggested products to maintain moisture in my locs, as well as oil treatments to cleanse my scalp. Before I started, I didn't know that this hairstyle is actually a lifestyle, but Amina showed me the ways to becoming a locstar and I couldn't be more satisfied. They are just the width I wanted and I've been maintaining them under her guidance. She told me to trust the dreadloc journey and I'm glad I did!

I went to Amina Montoya at Salon 5 on recommendation of my boyfriend, whose's hair is always on point! I was extremely nervous because I was cutting my long, long, hair off in hopes of one of those cute "I-woke-up-like-this" bobs. My hair is naturally wavy, things can go very wrong when cut too short. Amina gave me that "effortless" look I was dreaming of! It was soooo cute! If only I could do it daily the way she did, girl is a ninja with the straightener-curling technique! I very much recommend her!

I've had a hard time finding someone to help me maintain my curly hair my entire life. About 6 years ago a friend recommended Amina. I haven't let anyone else cut my hair since! She has perfectly understood what I've wanted over the years and has really helped me achieve my goal of long healthy hair!

Ona and the staff were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Ona was very patient and took her time with me, which is very rare now a days. She gave me a lot helpful tips to tame/appreciate my hair. My hair can't thank me enough for crossing Ona's path. I feel absolutely fabulous after my appointment. They don't call her the "hair saint" for nothing. Worth every penny!

Ever since going natural (no chemical relaxer) I've had a hard time managing and maintaining my hair. Growing up I was never really good at taking care of my hair. Then one day I was fortunate enough to meet Amina Montoya at a Yoga event. I couldn't take my eyes off her hair! She is very approachable and warm so we hit it off right away. I knew she had the answer to help me with my decade long dilemma of hair maintenance. I went into 5 Salon and was greeted with open arms. My hair was long over due for some tender love and care. Amina dug right in and has the patience of a saint. She's given me many helpful tips to tame my do and am happy to have her notice the results whenever I go in for a cut. My hair can't thank me enough for crossing Amina's path. I feel fabulous and whole after each appointment.
