I strongly discourage anyone from leasing an apartment from Archstone Brooklyn Heights. After two weeks of calling them to remind them that our contract specified that they owe us the remainder of our monthly rent due to the company-wide 30-day satisfaction guarantee, they bluntly told us that they did not believe that they had to adhere to the contract we signed. I discourage anyone from assuming that the terms of their Archstone contract will be upheld.

Do not live here if you want to do business with honest companies that stand by their contracts. The Archstone in Brooklyn Heights was in debt to me when I left. After calling several times, I spoke with the manager who informed me that Archstone did not feel obliged to uphold our contract and return my money. There exist heroic businesspeople who strive to provide great services to people; the Archstone in Brooklyn Heights is not one of them. They will steal simply because they believe that their expected revenue is maximized when they steal.

Was surprised when they raised my rent (month-to-month) after 2-1/2 months. Lower floor hallways smell of the garbage and all floors seem to have at least a couple smokers on them. Was a little peeved when I came in and a dog was urinating in the lobby. I was close to giving the place 2 stars instead of 1, but does it really make a difference?
