Let down.

My wife and I came out for dinner and to say we were unimpressed was an understatement. No host/hostess so we waited a few minutes before being acknowledged. A wobbly table switch later we were on our way. They offered liquor at a reasonable price but their offerings were lackluster. We checked out the menu and the $ 23 penne vodka was a turnoff. The service was a bit of a struggle. The server stumbled through a few specials and we saw all we needed to. Sub par menu, sub par service. Give me a reason to return other than a crappy diner menu.

My wife and I just had dinner there with another couple. We were somewhat underwhelmed. First, the menu is fairly limited and then my appetizer, veggie spring rolls, was not available. As I am a vegan (but a pretty easy-going diner) I had a bowl of plain rigatoni with sauteed mushrooms. The rigatoni was $18 (a lot of money for a bowl of pasta) and then I was charged $5 extra for the mushrooms. When the bill came and I told the waitress that I thought it was somewhat foolish to charge me the extra five dollars, she did not have think to have the manager stop by. Another one of us had the lemon chicken. I was told that it was tasty but it had to be sent back to the kitchen because it had not been sufficiently cooked and the inside was pink. My "salad greens" salad was tasty, but once again, at $10 it seemed too pricey. After a 20% tip our bill for four came to $260 (including our glasses of wine). This just seemed like way to much for a local Bloomfield restaurant. Overall my sense was that we could have eaten elsewhere in the Montclair area, just as well or better, and spent less.

Great variety of food, great service. Everything we had was very well prepared. Definitely a place to repeat.

Fantastic American cuisine. Great craft beer, cocktails, burgers, duck, appetizers, desserts with reasonable prices. Loved it.
