Don't go here unless you have a few hours to waste. Waited almost an hour for a scheduled physical with Dr. Rosen. Did all the paperwork online ahead of time - around 7 different things to fill out, got there ten minutes early to check in. Got bloodwork done right away then sat. After 20 minutes I asked if it would be soon. The receptionist checked and said that the doctor said 10 minutes, she was wrapping it up. 25 minutes later still nothing. I left! Of course now they won't process my bloodwork the main reason I went for the physical. This is not the first time.

I had a very lackluster experience with Dr. Braunstein. During our appointment he was checking his phone which I'd never previously experienced. It did not make me feel very cared about and I've elect to go elsewhere.

This practice is difficult to rate because there are two different aspects 1) the quality of the physicians themselves and 2) the experience of scheduling and getting in to an appointment.
Dr. Kakoulas is phenomenal. I would like to continue seeing her as my PCP. However, I can't ever get in to see her! Outside of my annual exam, I am always directed to one of her PAs. She will occasionally pop in but the most time is spent with a new person each visit. This year, my annual appointment was canceled by her office and they cannot guarantee a new appointment until 2015. That's insanity.
I think this practice has simply taken on too many patients and now cannot provide the follow up and relationship maintenance that many of us are looking for. It's truly a bummer because I do not want to look elsewhere.

Having grown up in New York City, there are things transplants, tourists and the rest of the world see on TV, and then there’s a real New Yorker’s perspective.
I have a few things to say about my experience as a patient at YaffeRuden after responding to emergency calls to treat the dead, dying, sick, not so sick, and plain old malingering patients all over this city for the past several years. I think its fair to say that know what it is to receive great medical care because I have given it (and still do) and have also spent more time in the various ER's of prestigious hospitals and visited more patient floors, outpatient clinics, dialysis centers, doctor's offices than I care to admit.
At nearly every level, I've seen rude, ignorant, overwhelmed, or just plain incompetent people actively engaged in the art, discipline, profession and practice of medicine. I have also been fortunate to work with and have been a part of healthcare teams and systems that have provided truly awesome patient care.
Over the last decade I have seen and been treated by several physicians and PA's at YaffeRuden. They may not be perfect, but overall they deserve five well-earned stars because they simply care for their patients do the week in and week out grind that is the practice of medicine far better than many places that have provided care for my own patients.
I’ve been deeply satisfied with the medical treatment I've received from both Dr. Yaffe and Dr. Ruden. I've often found PA D. Sry exceptionally on point in her care and assessment when I’ve been unable to see a doctor due to scheduling, They all listen to my medical complaints with a nuanced perspective that takes in to account my diet, my lifestyle, the exercise goals that are important to me, and what is happening in other areas of my life that may affect my health. They treat the causes of my medical issues – not just the symptoms. On busy days, Banita M. in front office support is the calm, smiling center around which the entire office seems to rotate.
Dollars to doses, the clinicians and staff at YaffeRuden have always made time for me, and worked with me towards optimum health, around each of our hectic schedules. This is something I respect and admire. They have even worked out payment schedules when I have been under financial pressure and uninsured - something I appreciate immensely. I could not ask for a more patient, understanding and personally satisfying doctor-patient relationship.
I'm certainly no celebrity or fat cat businessman, but I am a fairly healthy, regular guy who knows a thing or two about the business of healthcare and the practice of medicine past “primum non nocere”. Of course, they get can busy. Patients who are satisfied with their medical care tend get better, keep coming back, and refer others. People who value the level and quality of care they receive return to get seen there. People who don’t, find some place else. It’s as simple as that.
Like most people, when I have a medical issue, I want primary care physicians and physician extenders I can trust at a reliable, comprehensive, top-notch practice. When friends and family inevitably ask me: "Where should I go? Who should I see? Who do you see?” I tell them I go to YaffeRuden.

Dr. Ruden has been my primary care physician for more than twenty years and I could not imagine my medical world without the institution of Yaffe-Ruden. This organization is so well thought out and complete that it makes me feel secure in the knowledge that they will be there when I need them with a multitude of resources and skilled caring medical professionals. And I can talk to Dr. Ruden like he is another person and he listens!
My wish is that this institution outlast me!
