Xchange at Secaucus Junction

I do not live here, but I went to view these apartments with my husband and my 3 year old daughter. I can say, above all, they were incredibly unprofessional and rude. They didn't bother showing us the actual apartment and instead focused solely on the amenities which, may I add, were completely empty and not being used by anyone. The employee who was to guide us through said amenities did not even greet us, instead said "Kids aren't allowed anywhere here, just so you know". I was shocked by that and asked for clarification since it seemed like she implied that kids were not allowed to live here? "What do you mean kids aren't allowed here?" She looked at me as if I didn't understand english "I mean there's no kids allowed here". What she meant was there was no children allowed in any area of the amenities. So no kids int he pool. No kids in any of the common spaces. That's a little ridiculous and sends a clear message that they don't want families living there. When I finally got to speak to a leasing agent she was extremely condescending and basically implied that this place was too exclusive and expensive for us (it wasn't, we come from Manhattan rent - but thanks anyway). Any place that is not willing to show you where you will actually be LIVING right off the bat sends a red flag to me. Not to mention the completely ridiculous fees associated with the amenities that not all occupants can use. You guys aren't a ritzy apartment building in Manhattan and if you were, you wouldn't treat potential applicants like trash. Clearly they do not value their tenants if they can't even be professional and nice to applicants.

The management of this building is the worst I have ever seen. They are completely unprofessional in how they handle their tenants. Moving into this building based on the amenities is equivalent to seeing the flashing lights of Las Vegas and deciding it's a good idea to go gamble. Do not be fooled.

I have lived at Secaucus Xchange for 2 years and have had a super positive experience here overall and would recommend it to anyone--especially a NYC commuter.
First, the place we live is gorgeous--super high ceilings, private attic storage, granite countertops. A real show place. Convenient covered parking, too.
Second, the train station is 5 minutes away and Penn Station is about a 10 min ride. You don't even get that commuting to NYC from Brooklyn! Their timely train station shuttle runs the longest hours of anywhere we checked out in the vicinity. It is reliable and clean.
Third, our door people are tremendous! George is super helpful and smart, knows anything you would need to find out. Knows each and every person in building. Loves his job, you can tell. I feel really secure here even when my husband is away (commutes back and forth to Nashville).
Fourth--the gym facilities here are unbelievable. For 75.00 you get access to a gym that rivals any fancy gym in the city.
Fifth--I have found the maintenance people super responsive. I recently called about the heat at 11 pm and someone was literally at my door in less than 5 minutes flat. The leasing office is equally responsive and friendly, too. I have always found Anna and Maria to be wonderful from the day we arrived.
Sixth--and almost the very best part: The sound insulation here is better than anything I have ever experienced. When in your apartment, you hardly realize you are in a building with other people.

In total, Xchange is by far the best apartment experience we have ever had.

ALL THE ABOVE COMPLAINTS ARE TRUE. They'll tell you it's smoke free in the "building", but they don't consider anyone's actual apartment to be part of the building. You 100% will smell anything your neighbors smoke or cook. The new building is settling and you can see the cracks in the garages, tiles, and separated walls from the first floor. It even flooded a bit on first floor. OH, and you will hear your neighbors above you so hope they sleep similar hours to yourself. For the rent, just go buy a house, it is not worth it.

Nice looking apartments, managed by crooks. I had an accident in this building where false fire alarms are a norm, in January of last year after hearing one such alarm I went out of exit door and fell on the ice which wasn't cleared in front of exit doors. I told the management about the accident on the same day. The management never came back to me, however after few months passed the management came back saying that I didn't follow the procedure, so they don't have cctv footage. The procedure, which they deliberately didn't tell me.
