Woodbridge Moving & Storage

First off we used the company to move us to storage and then again from storage to our new house. The first move was as planned and prices well. The movers were fast and professional and showed up on time. The second move was a different story. We were told the time would be 1:00-1:30pm on Saturday. The movers showed up at 9pm after multiple phone calls to the movers themselves and the manager. There was a lot of whining which made for an awkward situation. The foreman then tells me this is COD. The website clearly states visa/MasterCard accepted but I had planned to pay by check. He was adamant on cod. I explained if they had shown up on time I could go to a bank and get cash but that isn't happening at 9pm. I have come to find out they haven't been paid and were planning to take the pay out of my cash. Upon arrival to our new house at 12:30am they parked in the driveway. Leaked oil on my new driveway and knocked a branch down. At 2:30am when they were complete they stated they were done and leaving. They did not assemble the beds, tables, etc. we asked them to and they couldn't find the hardware. We finally found a bag marked "all hardware" and they expected me to make sense of it. We demanded they did the job they are paid to do and they did. I tipped $40 each because I felt bad they were booked so tight. I never receive a follow up or apology from the manager either. Fast forward two weeks and my bed is coming apart. I doubt all of the moving experiences are the same with this company but this was mine.

I was scheduled to move on 11/1 and movers were to arrive at my house at 8:30 am. I had an itemized list of things to be moved that was sent to Danielle via email and resent to her as a finalized inventory prior to my move. Keep in mind that prior to my move she was unreachable via phone and not always reachable via email. I asked for her to please call me to confirm we were set for 11/1 at 8:30 am. No phone call. So, when the movers did not show up at 8:30 am I waited 30 minutes before I called Danielle. When I did call her to ask where the movers were she appeared irritated and was not sure where the movers were. A few minutes later I get a call from one of the movers and told they slept late and would be at least another hour to get to my place. Then I get another call that they were now on the road but because weather was bad they would be late. They did not show up until 10:27 am…2 hours later! Movers not only showed up 2 hours late but only 2 guys showed up. Once at my house the movers were annoyed Danielle did not schedule 3 movers instead of 2 and told me it would take at least 8 hours to move my things. After several phone conversations between the movers and Danielle, one of the movers said Danielle would be calling me and they told me that she was angry with me. When I answered my phone she was very rude to me and used a few choice words, then she hung up on me. One of the movers came into my home and said Danielle just called him and that my move was cancelled and they were leaving. Thankfully no money changed hands. Before the movers left they told me that I was not the first person to have an issue with their move. I wish I read the reviews prior to calling this company!

With that said…I was so VERY fortunate to get Alpha Moving and Storage to come out that Monday, last minute mind you! The person I spoke with, Beth was so friendly and reassured me that my move will go smoothly. She said that she will send 3 guys and it will take about 4 1/2 hours. Not ONLY were the movers at my place ON TIME at 9 am. BUT...with 3 movers it took them 3 1/2 hours to move my things and then to drive it to a storage facility. They were amazing and I highly recommend Alpha Moving and Storage located in Jersey City. They are the BEST!!!

Hired Woodbridge Moving in December 2008 as the 2-family I had been renting sold my month-to-month lease did not allow for an extension in time. This fell around the holidays, where I had difficulty finding someone to move for a reasonable price. Woodbridge Moving was in agreement to do such on New Years Eve day (when I had to get out) for $325. Big mistake on my part.

The 3 men provided did not come prepared and had to utilize my own power drill and power screwdrivers. None of the furniture was wrapped in the protective blankets (they said it cost extra when I questioned such). Two of the gentlemen were related and argued like such in front of me the duration of the move.

When all was over and done with, I had cable equipment stolen, wood on the edge of my couch was scratched up, and a bottom piece of my entertainment center was knocked off and replaced so poorly that the entire unit wobbles if you touch it.

Calling the owner, Ron, is a joke. He is very unprofessional and kept referring to me as "lady" on the phone as he spoke to me in a rude tone. When trying to discuss my concerns, he promptly claimed to have another call then proceeded to hang up on me.

You are better off spending more money and getting better service elsewhere.
