Windsor at Liberty House

I have a 2 bedroom duplex. Apartment is great - very large, lots of storage space. The Neighborhood is AWESOME. Commute is super easy as the complex is within a 10 min walk to 2 PATH stations and 2 Ferries. Gym is great for an apt complex gym. The rents can be a bit on the high side but the place is worth it. And I should mention the staff is great!

Negatives - rents are a little pricy even considering comps in the neighborhood.You end up paying for a bunch of "amenities"that you really don't use (club room? meeting room? - really??)
Also - being a new building the apartments lack "character" that you'd find in an older building (but thats me really nit picking). Oh - and really wish apartments were not carpeted.

This is a great apartment complex. The management staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well-kept. The complex is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with plenty of small shops and restaurants. It is close to the waterfront, and has easy access to the city, but it isn't crowded and noisy. The apartment itself is very nice, with a sensible layout and adequate storage. I question the term "luxury" when applied here, because the fixtures and appliances are all very basic, builder-grade. I guess the luxury is in the amenities (nice gym!) and location, and the apartment is very comfortable, so I'm not complaining. The parking space, which is included in the rent, is nice and roomy, with plenty of room to open car doors to unload stuff. We are very happy to be living here.

We loved our apartment! This is an updated review: In late 2009 we moved across the river from the UWS in Manhattan and began renting our duplex apartment from Windsor At Liberty House. We stayed for over 2 years and were very happy! The location couldn't be beat and we loved the layout, natural light, & spaciousness of the apartment. We also loved the price which included a free assigned parking spot in a secured indoor garage. We did an extensive apartment search in the Paulus Hook area and found this rental complex to have the best value for the money.

Prior to moving in, we had heard second hand that the apartments can seem noisy, but we did not have that experience at all. We found our living environment to be calm and peaceful. To provide a fair & balanced review, I do need to mention that the kitchen & bathroom floors would have looked nicer if they were updated (our master bathroom floor had been redone and looked great), but this one point is not nearly enough to take a star away from what was an extremely positive living experience.

As for the upkeep: The common hallways were always cleaned regularly. The maintenance staff always responded to our needs promptly and politely. The front desk staff in the main building were helpful and courteous toward us. The BBQs could've be maintained a bit better, but were functional. The courtyards, pool, and landscaping (beautiful flowers!) were always in impeccable shape.

The one last thing I'd like to add after reading a mixture of positive and negative reviews, is that various people will have varying experiences. Choosing a living space is a very personal choice. Although, it is good to have input from all different sources, you should view some apartments and decide for yourself if Windsor is a good fit for you. You just may be pleasantly surprised!

I am really surprised by the poor reviews on here. We just moved in a little over a month ago and are IN LOVE with this complex! The amenities are superb (aerobics classes, gym, free parking spot in garage, party rooms for rent for free, a business center, and even freshly baked cookies for the residents every morning). The rent is reasonable considering the neighborhood and what everything else costs over here but would be considered pricey elsewhere in Jersey City. Overall, I am 100% happy with this place and hope that nothing changes!
