I bought a babka yesterday and, eager for a taste, opened the package to grab a piece. It was stone hard, obviously baked the day before, and covered with a hard, thick sugar-spice crust. By this morning, though carefully wrapped, it was completely hard and inedible. Much too sweet and tasteless, whether due to being stale or just "how it was."
