It's alright for sports and physical activity, but it doesn't have many wide open grassy areas. Also quite noisy and boisterous at certain times of day.

Love the tennis courts here. Very very good, one of the best in jersey city. Pershing field park is nearby but it's as same as a highway. Washington Park is the place to be, for great tennis.
Go a little early, be it morning or evening, otherwise you may have to wait for 30 - 90 minutes. There are some 10 courts, still you may have to wait.

Washington park has been My Maltese* "Serena's" favorite. Places to romp through.
I love the cultural aspects to Washington. Parks many attractions. Such as Art shows, hands on gardening Involving the community. Dance reversals and so much more! I'm proud to have this park on my block!
