Vision Center of New York

Vision Center of New York is a full service ophthalmic practice. I was there on May 22, 2010 to get my eye checked and I was prescribed eye glasses. Under my good faith, I preferred to buy the glasses at the optician operated and owned by the doctors office. I paid for the glasses and my insurance covered part of it. Later, I realized that they had submitted a claim greater that what they had explained and they had overcharged me. Rather than correcting the error (if it was a genuine error), they made me wait for 4 weeks until I had to contact my insurance. Once the insurance company took action, I was able to get the refund check from them. I believe that this is unethical and wrong business practice where they mislead patients and charge or submit claim for more. Such greedy business practice in medical field is not only a problem for general public but also a reason for higher insurance cost. I want to warn the patients who happen to be patient at this center to check your insurance properly and make sure their claims are fair.
