I have had grandma's pies from South Jersey up to North Jersey and this is the best grandma's pie I have ever had definitely worth it

I wouldn't say I hated it because I don't usually say I HATE THINGS.. so I will settle on disliked it, disliked the experience very much so. The food was okay. The experience and unprofessional ism of the owner and waitress was unacceptable. Okay, so here's what happened. I had a coupon that said buy one get one free either lunch or dinner entree of equal or greater value, up to 9$. Okay, so I decided to give it a try. I went on my lunch break since I was local to this restaurant from where I work. I walked in and the place seemed decent. I sat myself in a booth in the dining room which could seat roughly 50 people from what I saw. It was just myself, a table with 2 older women and a booth with 3 gentleman sitting at it. When I presented the coupon to the waitress she said she would have to ask her boss if they could use it since it was just me sitting down to eat. I was fully aware of what I was doing. I was dining in and whatever I did not finish I would take home with me, just like any party of 1-100 would do. After much debate, arguing and loud yelling coming from the kitchen area between the waitress and the owner, they agreed that they would take my coupon. Afterall, why not? It was the same as 2 people eating, except there was just 1 and whatever I did not finish eating I would take home with me to finish later. I received my food and ate my food. I now sat alone since the 2 women and 3 men had left. A few random people trickled in the front door for pick ups, and I sat there and at my meal. When it was time to go I asked for to go containers and packed it myself, paid my bill, left tip and spoke up before I left to the owner. Afterall, they were speaking up throughout the entire meal about this coupon crisis, even including patrons coming into the restaurant on this and literally talking about me as I sat there and ate... I did not let this bother me because it childish behaviors don't. As I left I told them that I appreciated that they honored my coupon but how they handled it was unprofessional. The owners response was "Yes, you are right. We shouldn't have took your coupon!" I told him the yelling back and forth was very unprofessional and that is not how it should have been handled, therefore I will not be returning. His response, "We already knew you wouldn't be coming back, that's why we shouldn't have took the coupon!" The waitress chimed in, "You should be embarrassed of yourself" As they were still yelling, now at me, I turned my back and walked out calmly, like how I came in and how I was throughout this entire experience.

My favorite pizza place in Hawthorne so far! The grandma's pizza is one of my favorites and i typically wont order a pizza without some kind of meat. I have not had anything bad from here.

Good food at a reasonable price with friendly service.

Not usual for a 5 star rating from me but this place deserves it. This doesn't mean this is a 5 star dinning restaurant, however the food is just great. Anything I have ever gotten here is excellent, the servers are always cordial and the prices are great. I'd suggest this place to everyone!
