My cat passed away at home (he was 20 years old) and I went to VCU to see if they could take care of his remains.
It was a busy Saturday morning for VCU but MICHELLE took the time to work with and console me even though there were so many other furry friends in the waiting room.
She made a difficult time just a little bit easier and VCU is very lucky to have her on their team.
Thank you, Michelle for being so special!

This is place is terrible. I went there only because I followed our longtime family vet, Dr. Patricia Brew. She is an excellent vet and better then anyone else we have ever used. She notices issues early while other vets miss them. Recently I got a new Pomsky Puppy who had a neurological disorder and when she couldn't walk it too Dr. Brew a few seconds to diagnose it and instead of wasting our money on x-rays and nonsense she said to take the dog to a specific neurological animal hospital instead. She was fired December 1. A few times we went we saw other vets there (even though we had always asked and specifically requested our vet but we were accepting regarding scheduling). One of the vets spoke for 30 minutes about how our puppy would be 60lbs etc. Then we were shocked and said are you sure, she said yes (mind you we were existing patients and the breed was clearly there on the paperwork). Then we said but are you sure again she is a Pomsky (Pomeranean Husky). The reply was oh. There are other examples of carelessness by the other vets we saw for routine checkups at the Vet Care Unlimited. We only tolerated it because when it mattered our vet was who we would have to see. Just be warned that if you really care about your pet the people who work here don't read the chart to look at the breed, they just make assumptions which is scary. That is how you get medication mistakes with dosage also.

We visited this clinic several times because it is nearby yet each time the experience has been disappointing; finally we are ready to leave. So, where do I start . . .
1) They request expensive treatments that are not necessary and become hostile when basic questions are asked (e.g. x-rays for heartworms that are **already being treated**).
2) Their receptionists are constantly trying to upsell on some products they clearly are getting a kickback for (holistic oils sold at a considerable markup, flea and tick treatments sold at a serious markup, etc.)
3) They wouldn't let me come soothe my puppy when he was getting his shots, instead insisting that he be taken to a back room without me.
4) They don't answer the phone regularly and the receptionist are extremely disorganized.
5) We've dropped off stool samples for parasite testing, and paid for them, only to have them go missing.
They are 0/10. Awful practice. Protect your pets by going elsewhere.

I have switched and I love it. They are very professional and Dr. Paolini is amazing. She takes her time and performs a thorough examination. I left there feeling assured that I was getting the best care for my little boy. This is now my new Vet's Office for my 3 little boys.
