I don't understand people giving 1 or 2 stars cause of the toll, yes it is high, but it's not bridge's fault. give 1 star to the authorities who makes us pay rediculously high price. and yes, there is no way for pedestrians, but it's very long and there is a reason for this , so that people won't commit suicides. The bridge by itself is a beautiful peace of architecture, what a view when you go thruogh upper level, as it's Heaven's gates)))

I love this bridge, great and fast access to Staten Island. it would be even better if there was a pedestrian walkway and a bicycle path away from the traffic

Gorgeous bridge, that don't get enough credit for its beauty for a simple reason: You can use a bicycle to cross it. Long, 2 levels, always under constructions, and will coset15$ if you come from the Island's side. On a clear day, the view of Downtown Manhattan is gorgeous, and could really became a tourist attraction if it would be allowed.
5 For the beauty of the bridge.
1 star for not being accessible.

We stayed at the Navy Lodge on Fort Wadsworth in Stanton Island, and we drove under the bridge. The bridge soared above us, and I was in total awe. We finally went across on the MTA S53 bus - which was easy. Driving was a different story. We missed our turn on the Brooklyn side and we had to scramble to get to where we were going. We still don't know if we should take the upper or lower deck.

I love this Verrazano Bridge. For me it is one of the best roads in New York (Yes, including the Brooklyn Bridge and the crazy traffic you can find here). But!! If they made such a powerful and beautiful thing, couldn't they just add a place for people to walk from one side to the other? It could be great (Like the Brooklyn Bridge offer) if on a beautiful day i could walk the Bridge. In the meantime I am watching it while running the Belt Parkway, day or night, it is beautiful. Anyway, always nice to see it;)
