The Vermulen Cemetery has been a cemetery that has been lost by the town and its people for a long time. At the site, there are several broken graves and tombstones, but the ones that are preserved are quite well. Some of the bodies have been exhumed to Fair Lawn Cemetery or elsewhere, but there are ew that remain and the names read back to the 1850s. On a few of the stones are words writen in Dutch, or a dialect of it. Dont forget though, this is still a cemetery so be mindful of the dead that still rest here and allow them to rest in peace.
