Great food and a good option for vegetarians

The food is pretty mediocre but honestly the setting is ridiculously cool and definitely makes up for it. It's so laid back and hipster, you feel so awesome just being in there. You can play cards or board games like Scrabble or Guess Who while you wait for food or just read a book there. It is a real nice place to just relax. It's also BYOB so great plus!

Peter, the lanky, stupid waiter with the constantly sour face, is rude, short sighted and non-impressionable. I have had him three times and he is nothing short of being completely obnoxious and condescending. He hates his job and it's obvious. In addition, the food at this place is non-palatable,, buffalo meatballs that are sterile tasting, some portobello spinach thing that is tasteless and coffee that is lifeless, at best. Avoid this place, no matter how bohemian you would like your day to be.

Literally ruined my birthday, thanks to one employee (woman wearing a red cap who called herself the manager) and the owner who defended her. The worst experience of my restaurant-going days ever. Rude from the moment we walked in the door, mostly the red-hat wearing 'hostess.' This woman should not be interfacing with the public under any circumstances. She told us she could not seat us even though there were dozens of empty tables, and then when she relented, she justified her behavior saying they had a reservation later ... in three hours! Came to the table several more times to tell us things like "you have to move that chair" and never relented. We had a large party and everyone was dumfounded and, frankly, it ruined our evening. We spoke to the owner afterwards and he defended her and said "I don't believe she said that about the reservations." When I told him I was going to write it up and asked him if he supported an employee treating customers that way, he (finally) stammered and hemmed-and-hawed. No way this is the first time someone complained, and the wait staff - our waitress was nice and friendly - seemed to be nodding their heads in agreement as we were talking to the owner. Our entire large party intends to make it our mission to spread the word about how outrageous this experience was and discourage anyone we know from going to this awful place. Too bad the owner felt the need to defend someone who is clearly a cancer on his business. At the very least, that employee needs to be fired (or moved the 'back of the house).
