Valvoline Instant Oil Change

The gentleman that performed the service was quick and professional. He showed me the color of my oil and explained why certain things needed to be done. He made me feel confident that the work was being done correctly and carefully. I could hear him count off safety checks as he made sure connections were tight and secure. I will definitely go back there the next time I need another oil change.

While Mario was very friendly and explained everything to me very well, he told me what was recommended for my car- which was partial/full synthetic oil, a fuel injection cleaning and engine flush. Because I didn't know any better, I paid for the partial synthetic oil, f.i. cleaning and flush... Only to find out later when I had time to read the car manual that synthetic additives in oil are not recommended and can actually harm my engine, and that the other 2 services should not have been done for a very long time (at least another 80,000 miles). Though in the end, it's my own fault for not knowing my cars recommended maintenance practices better, I will still probably not return here because I still feel like I was taken advantage was.

Got a Groupon for $20 oil change. They keep trying to upsell me to synthetic oil which my car totally does not need.
After that oil change, I got a $10 off coupon in email so I called to ask how much. They quoted $75 for a oil change, saying my Corolla needs special oil. Ridiculous.
If you are going there without Groupon, make sure they write down how much they will be charging you, or they will most likely scam you.

Without asking my permisson they put $80 syntetic oil to my car. Your air filters always has to be changed. As a result while you are expecting to pay $40-50 oil change, it cost you $150 to $200.

Complete rip-off. Went there with a groupon for a regular oil change, assuming I got a great deal. They asked me to change the air filter and cabin filter too, which were in bad shape. I said ok. But they charged me $70 for those two filters???? What is more funny is, as soon as they see the groupon they ask if they should change the oil only or if I want them to top off other fluids too :-) Of course you have to fill those basic fluids, which every mechanic does when they do oil change. But not valvoline. They apparently charge you for even filling your washer fluid. LOL. Will never go there again!
