Google has the category wrong. This is not a "Juvenile Detention Center" but rather an administrative pre-trial adult facility named "Metropolitan Detention Center" or MDC Brooklyn. As far as prisons, my stay here was not bad. I was held in the newer building so I guess that is probably why I did nt see any rats? Three meals a day, sometimes ok sometimes bad. Sometimes you get ice cream after the meal. The bad is just numbers and logistics, their resources is just not sufficient to take care of everyone so unless you are on the floor with some issue, getting medical help is not that easy. The correctional officers are such a wide variety of characters. Most of the old timers were reasonable and fair and treat you with respect but the newer staff is like a box of chocolate --you never know what you gonna get.
