I've always have a good experience here and the employees are polite. The wait in line can be all of 15 mins sometimes but the customer service makes up for it.

Everyone has always been polite and helpful at this location. Maybe because I treat them with respect? The place is overheated, though. I could not work there! The bad thing, and this seems to be true of many post offices now, is that there is always an extended wait in line. Bring a magazine to read while you stand there and wait your turn. Each transaction seems to take 10 minutes, perhaps because shipments are being sent internationally and require paperwork. If it is a customers first time doing this, they have to be educated on how to do it all. The postal workers try to keep things moving by telling people what to do and come back to the window with completed forms.
When I lived on Fourth Street, I usually got a note saying that I had to pick up a package at the post office- a 15 minute walk each way. Now that I live on 3rd St, they always leave the package if I'm not home.
Any real problems, I blame on regional or national management. For example, I used to be able to buy stamps from any of 12 vending machines at the main post office by the World Trade Center. ALL of the vending machines we're removed a few years ago. Now if you want to merely buy stamps, you must wait in line with everyone else (average wait: 30 minutes). At this location there are many tourists, just looking to find out how much it costs to mail a postcard and to buy those stamps. The manager should have at least figured this out years ago and accommodated these people. It would speed up service for everyone! I suppose that they thought everyone could buy stamps on-line, but some people need them right away.

I go there quite frequently and I always wait in line for at least 15 minutes but the workers are always very nice and helpful... I think that makes up for the wait. They treat customers in a professional way with courtesy and respect.

This branch never answers the phone (I have attempted calling on three different occasions before walking over at different times of the day on different days). It is consistently over crowded, too warm temperature wise, and just to keep your visit fun - rude when you do make it to the window. One employee Connie is nice and helpful otherwise this place should be avoided at all costs...
