Uptown Rec Room

I was a guest at a family event at the Walnut Loft NYC. I’ll tell you, you’re better off throwing your party at a rec center in the projects or school gym. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on line. This place is not as grand as it looks. The floors looked like they haven’t been wax or buffed in a long time. The place could use a fresh paint job. In addition, there is a storage room with glass doors with a bunch of junk in it located next to the bar area visible to the guest. At the very least they should’ve put a curtain or something. But my main issue with this place was the Owner and his lack of customer service and professionalism. The AC did not work. The thermostat read 85 degrees. Now, can you imagine 95 degrees outside and 85 degrees inside plus 100 guests?! We were all covered in sweat! Not pleasant at all. Now the worst part, the OWNER finally shows up at the end of the night, with an “I don’t give a f*ck” attitude written on his face. The hostess of the party voices her complaints to him; he totally disrespected and disregarded her complaints. The OWNER even called the hostess a liar to her face and then walked away. How much class can you expect from a business who promotes on craigslist?! After spending 5 hours of my life in this sweat box I say seek other halls to host your events. Chucky Cheese in the Bronx is more accommodating then this junk. Spend your money elsewhere!
