Petco Unleashed, what is apparently a slightly upscale Petco, perhaps aimed at the likes of more boutique pet stores like Mudd Bay or Planet Dog, actually works pretty well in the city. Dogs on leash are allowed in and while you may run into a super protective Upper West Side Chihuahua owner, most owners are fairly relaxed. They also do frequent shot clinics here which are dramatically cheaper than vets. The prices around the store are higher than what you might find online, but the convenience can’t be beat.
