If you have time visit! Nice area and the buildings from the world fair just look like as if aliens arrived at the park

This is a must-see for any and all New Yorkers and tourists with enough time to travel to the area. It's wonderfully maintained (hard to imagine it run down as other reviews said it was years ago) and even without the fountains on in early May, it was a beautiful sight. The surrounding area is perfect for a picnic.

I was 10. The Unisphere represented all things that I thought were possible - long before I could conceive there wasn't global loving. I was such a dolt at 10 that I had no notion that people around the world didn't love each other. In my child's eye, I thought this "World's Fair" (I was lucky enough to go 3 times) was a celebration and congratulatory, and that the Unisphere was the cherry on top of a sundae.
To me, the Unisphere constantly reminds me that we are one world and one people. That's how I try to live my life.
