I took my car to the service center to get my oil changed. Checked in, had a donut and waited to be picked up by a friend. While watching the TV I noticed the volume would go in and out then disappear. I went to the two women who take your money and jokingly asked, "Are you ladies messing with me by raising and lowering the volume.” One of them said we don't do anything with the volume and proceeded to the TV. I mentioned to her I had pushed the volume arrow up but nothing happened. She promptly reprimanded me and said "DON'T TOUCH THE TV!" "DIDN'T YOU SEE THE SIGN?!" I have never been spoken to so rudely and I responded "If I can't turn up the volume then perhaps I shouldn't be spending my money here." I am 65 years old Black male with two advanced degrees so I am certainly smart enough to adjust the volume on a television set.
There was no apologetic response from her or any compassion to my inquiry. I suggested perhaps I should discuss this with the manager and she said, "Perhaps you should." I asked who would that person be and she said Doug.
Kudos to Doug, the service manager who marched her straight into the higher up and they had a conversation. This young lady obviously does not know how to treat customers. Certainly she does not understand that customers will not tolerate being talked down to or demeaned when trying to point out the volume is not working correctly on the TV. Rather than go away and never return to this location I felt it would be better to let management know how their customers were being treated so improvements could be made. The other young lady has always been excellent when I have purchased accessories and my CSR was very good too. It takes only one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Again, my hat is off to Doug who made me feel better about using this service center.

I purchased a 2011 certified pre-owned GTI in 2013 from Union VW. Despite their claimed "112 point inspection", there were a number of things they definitely missed and NEVER RESOLVED.

1) All prior owner's information - registration and insurance, were still in the glovebox when I picked up the car.

2) I signed a document to say that they got my deposit on the car, which apparently also disallowed me from negotiating on price later. Deceptive.

3) Prior owner had hacked a subwoofer into the trunk. All of the plastic clips holding the door trim were broken off from running a power cable under the carpet. The plastic cover over the battery had a hole haphazardly cut in the front to run the power cable to the battery. There were RCA cable ends cut off in between the rear seat and the carpet.

4) Worst of all - the rear speakers were buzzing terribly. I took my car in for service NUMEROUS times for this. They replaced my rear speakers twice, and my head unit three times to no avail. I described to the service department that the problem must be in the wiring, as everything else had been replaced and the buzzing persisted. They said "Checking the wiring would be too hard" and never resolved the issue.

5) They told me "That's just the way the speakers are supposed to sound from the factory", and I should upgrade my speaker system to fix it, but they won't cover it. I spent $200 on brand new Infinity speakers and adapters to install them myself, which leads me to point #6:

6) I removed all of the door panels, interior trim and rear seat, only to find that the prior owner had cut into the factory wiring harness and spliced the rear speakers TOGETHER using dollar-store extension cord, and there was a crappy pre-amp under the rear seat. I removed everything and restored the factory wiring to the way it should be. FINALLY worked perfectly.

A tip for Union VW service: Just a small amount of effort to identify the problem rather than replacing parts without investigation would go an incredibly long way, and save you money. And ACTUALLY doing your claimed 112 point inspection on CPO cars would do wonders. Also the scammy tack-on $380 VIN etching leaves a bad sleazy car salesman taste in your customer's mouth. Great car, not a great dealer.

We lost our car in the "icezilla" storm in January 2015. We needed a replacement ASAP. I went to Union VW - because they offered a good deal on a new 2015 Golf. We wanted a manual VW Golf, but they did not have any. They said - no problem, we'll order it for you for an extra $800. I really wanted that car and had them order it. They said it'd take 2-3 months. I called a few times to check and about 1.5 months into it, was told by the Sales guy that the car was issued and is in transit. I kept checking and they repeated the story, until 3 months after the order they told me that the car was not ordered at all and, in fact, such cars were not being built anymore for 2015 models. As a result we had to wait for the time when we could pre-order 2016 model, which we did with another dealership. 2 months later we had the car. Sorry, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend Union VW.

What a joke. Went here to test drive a 2007 rabbit with clean car fax and no accident reported. Obviously was in a fender bender crackled paint on the bumper, missing license plate bulb and bumper out of line. They had the car priced at 7000 which is 500 over kbb value. After pointing this out still willing to negotiate they stood firm. I wasn't low balling either trying to get closer to 6k. The manager came over and gave me the typical its used there's going to be wear and tear and attempted to negotiate payments and not price. Called back a week later to see if they had changed their mind still not having found the one I was looking for. Took me calling back six hours later to get an answer which was someone came and put a deposit on that car to pick up Saturday well call if anything changes. Sounds like another used car lot bs strategy to me. I'll be going elsewhere.

If I could give the Service Center no stars I would. Today I was scheduled for an 80,000 mile service. I called and made this appointment last Thursday and was quoted a price of $369.00. While asking about the price, I asked the rep to detail all of the services that would be provided-which she did- which gave her ample time to correctly quote me a price. Fast forward to this morning, and while dropping the car off I was informed that the quote I was given was wrong, and the service would cost $629, nearly 300 more than I expected to pay. At no point was an apology rendered, nor was there any negotiate with me to see if the price could be reduced to an amicable amount. Needless to say, i took my keys back and dropped my car off to have the same services done for $475. (The same exact services VW purports would be provided at 80,000 miles) This is the second time in less than a year that I was told one thing while scheduling a service appointment, to be only told something different while dropping off my car. The integrity in car purchasing and servicing is already minimal in the car industry, it just sucks finding out first hand which servicers are really dragging this metric down.
