I never write reviews, really. But after reading so many negative reviews I feel compelled to defend this facility. My 3yo needed a CT scan and I chose this place because they accepted our insurance, were reasonably priced to pay out of pocket until deductible met. When the dr office dropped the ball with getting insurance approval, NJIN got it and did so in one day so I didn't have to reschedule appt again. Arrived at 9:47 for 9:45 appt(traffic was miserable!), and didn't get a nasty look or an attitude. They took us right away and the technician was very sweet. The scan went smoothly and everyone was very complimentary to my son - which made him feel so good! And that was it. We were out of there. I haven't dealt with any billing issues yet, but expecting to pay in full anyway. I would go back for my ultrasound and mammography, but the drive is a bit daunting. The closer facilities did not do peds. Anyway, I would recommend this facility.

I am very pleased with the service provided by the Imaging Center in Union. The staff was attentive and friendly.I got a quick appointment. The service was fast and the results of medical examinations were sent to my doctor without delay. I recommend this place for your tests.

Why didn't I listen to the other reviewers, WHY???
Avoid this place. These people had me on the phone for half an hour gathering all my insurance information just to book an appointment. When My wife and daughter get there, it turns out they don't do that type of exam there.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I gave them the specific codes for the exams. If they don't do it there, why do they book the appointment in the first place???
Save yourself the trouble. Listen to the reviews. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

The people at the front desk are okay, except I did not like that they insist on receiving payment before services are provided. I understand about paying copayments at the time of service, but my insurance plan does not have copays. Our insurance pays FIRST, and then my spouse's employer's health fund kicks in. We never know what we will be required to pay until AFTER the health fund and insurance consider the charges. But the lady at the desk did not want to hear me explain it to her and insisted she knew what charges I had to pay because she was looking at a computer screen that was "hooked up to my insurance company." I didn't feel like arguing with a room full of patients listening, so I reluctantly gave her my credit card and asked if I would receive a refund if the insurance paid the bill in full. She said she didn't know! She asked the woman next to her, and she shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Yeah, I guess so. They have to."
Fine. So here it is, 6 weeks after I paid the charge in full, and our health fund ALSO paid the bill in full. I have been calling Union Imaging's billing department for the past three weeks trying to get my refund set in motion. After all, they wanted their money right on the spot before I was even x-rayed, and now I have to wait God-knows-how-long before I will get reimbursed? 6 months? Ever? Greedy crooks! It sure seems that way since I have called there about 7 times for over 2 weeks and all I ever get is a voicemail message saying, "All their representatives are busy." I leave a message, and I NEVER get a call back. NEVER. They are completely unprofessional! I did speak to a live person ONCE, and she took a message and said she will have the person who was handling my case call me back… but of course, I never received a call back.
Besides the billing department being completely unprofessional and incompetent, I wasn't too pleased with my MRI experience, either. I had one with and without contrast, and the without contrast part went well… but when it was time to inject the dye in me for the contrast, the young woman was completely incompetent. She couldn't find a vein, which is sometimes a problem with me (sometimes NOT, depends how competent the person is) because I've been told I have "tiny veins." However, she was stabbing me all over my hands looking to infuse me as if I was a cadaver and had no feelings! I STILL have a painful bruise on my left hand about an inch and a half large because she didn't access my vein correctly. At one point she wanted to look for another tech to access my veins for the dye, which also didn't make me feel too comfortable. (However, I wish she had found someone else to do the job!) Shouldn't these people be highly skilled if they are sticking needles into people's veins? I really don't want somebody "practicing" on me if they don't know what they are doing.
I also would like to mention the wait time, because both times I have been to Union Imaging, I had to wait about 30-45 mins. after my appointed time before I got called in. I have been to labs and radiology centers where I have filled out my paperwork and been ushered right in to the treatment room without much more than a 10 minute wait time. Granted, I have sat in doctors' offices for up to 3 hours, but when you have an early morning appointment, I don't understand the 45 minute wait.

Everything went smooth today. From the moment I walked in the door until I left. The front desk guy was super helpful, informative and nice. my technician Neal was very patient and super nice as well. Make sure to come 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out paperwork and have all of your cards ready (license, insurance ID card). Easy parking and plenty of seating in the lobby. Very clean facility as well.
