Over the past decade, I have worked with many different trainers, however five years ago I had the good fortune of meeting Union Fitness NYC Founder Zach Moore and trained with him ever since. Zach is the most knowledgeable, dedicated, driven, and personable trainer I have worked with. Zach compliments his knowledge of physiology, weight training, and nutrition with his exemplary listening skills so he can suggest better ways to train and enhance your form in a language that you will understand. He works to help you reach your fitness goals, but equally important, he is adamant about minimizing the possibility of injuries. Zach has a keen sense of my body and functional movement so always knows when to push me and when to pull back. Furthermore, Zach has always been in constant contact outside of our sessions, reading my emails on my own workouts closely and responding with comments, suggestions, and advice.
Also, earlier this year I started experiencing severe restrictions in the mobility of my right shoulder. Upon speaking with Zach during one of our sessions, he referred me out to his colleague Chuck Rowland. I cannot give enough praise and thanks to Chuck and his colleague Liz. Over the course of 2 ½ months of seeing Chuck and Liz once a week they were able to correctly diagnose the movement disorder affecting my shoulder, its cause, and through rigorous resistance stretching and deep massages they loosened up the tight muscles and tissues that were causing my issue and return me to my normal workouts. I am now stronger than I have ever been. The entire time Chuck, Liz, and Zach were in constant contact with each other, making sure I was still progressing the other parts of my body forward while not over working my shoulder and setting it’s recovery back. The overall experience provided by Zach, Chuck, and Liz was outstanding, to say the least. They approached my issue as a team and solved the issues as a team, making Union Fitness NYC in a class of its own.
So finally, to put my progress into numbers. When I began working with Zach, I weighed 200 lbs and had a body fat percentage of 22%, and I now weigh 205 lbs and have reduced my body fat percentage to 14.7%. In English, this means I lost almost 15 lbs of fat and gained a little more than 20lbs of muscle. Now those are results any 43 year old guy should be thrilled with.
