We rented a party bus for a 30 person trip to NYC and everything was great. The bus was amazing, speaker system with an easy iPod hookup along with strobe lights, a very clean bathroom, closet space, etc. Did not expect a bus any where near the one provided! John was a very nice guy and even allowed us to take a quick pitstop after a long night of driving. Would definitely recommend and will be using UEC for any future trips.

We hired UEC Transportation to shuttle 100 guests at our wedding in October, 2011. We made arrangements with the owner, John Lipani, months prior to the date of services needed. Unfortunately, the service provided did not live up to what was promised and agreed upon, in both contract and various written and verbal communications before the date of service.
We had significant snow and rain that day. The weather was unexpected for that time of year, but that is no excuse for the busses to NOT be fully functional and the for the driver to NOT have the knowledge to be prepared for the weather. One bus had no heat at all for both legs of the journey. Our guests could see their breath inside the bus cabin. Both busses were not properly prepared for traveling in the winter conditions. Defrosters were not functioning leaving the driver blind out his windshield and mirrors. My father had to wipe the windows for the driver and poke his head out an open window to direct the driver to avoid hitting parked cars and other traffic. If the busses were not ready for the weather, they should have been replaced with ones that were. UEC Transportation put all of guests in danger taking these ill-equipped vehicles onto the road.
In addition, there was a major communication error between the owner and his drivers. The guests were to be picked up from a different location from where they were dropped off. This information was relayed to and confirmed by John Lipani no less than 3 times prior to the event. The last confirmation of the fact that there was a separate pickup location was made 24hours before the event. Unfortunately, he never relayed this information to his drivers. However, the drivers were informed during the service period that there was in fact a different pick-up location. They chose to ignore that message and only follow the orders given by the owner, which were incorrect. This caused our guests to have to stand in the snow and rain for nearly 30 minutes while a separate company's car driver pleaded with the drivers to come to the proper location. Once they finished their cigarettes, the busses did finally arrive. However, with the above stated issues; no heat & poor visibility creating unsafe driving conditions.
The weather is unavoidable, and I place no fault on that with UEC Transportation. I do place fault with them on the poor communication from the owner to the drivers. The largest fault is with them for not having fully functional equipment to offer our guests safe and comfortable transportation. The poorly equipped and malfunctioning vehicles as well as the unprepared and untrained drivers caused unneeded stress and annoyance in addition to putting everyone aboard in danger.
Lastly, I do not appreciate the owner, John Lipani's, combative, disagreeable and rude responses to our inquiries after the services were considered rendered. We did not get 100% of services promised. The malfunctioning equipment alone should demand a partial refund. John Lipani refused to offer any refund and denied all other known issues with the services provided. I would not recommend doing business with him or anyone else in his company. They are unorganized and ill-prepared to handle the transportation of live human beings.
