Dear Post Master:
I was a recent visitor to your Post Office located on Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. I had never been to this office and decided to stop in to mail two certified letters and two small packages that I had packed in large envelopes.
I was appalled! First, by the filth that was strewn all over the floor of the entranceway. The floor was filthy, the glass on the door was thick with handprints from weeks of dirty fingers, and the rugs on the floor were sticking up, a sure safety hazard. But this was only the beginning.
The lobby was filled with people, a long line stretching out the door into the entranceway, only one teller servicing this crowd. Twice another window was opened for a brief time for those buying stamps and money orders only. None of your employees offered any support to the long line of people– not to mention the lethargic service that was being provided by the one teller on duty!
I am writing because I feel that not one of your employees has any pride in their work or workplace. I am embarrassed by your Post Office and urge you to take action and clean it up.
Providing additional support during those heavy traffic times should include the end of the workday when individuals are most often performing personal and business transactions.
I am not someone who writes letters to Post Masters, but this was criminal!
Respectfully,
Patrice McGowan
