U Hair & Nail Salon

i went in wanting a very specific haircut. a mohawk with long sides to cover my ears. long on the top. when i sat down in the chair i gave these instructions to the man who was going to cut my hair who nodded as if he understood. then i took off my glasses and sat back. what occurred in the next 5 minutes was the worst haircut i have ever had! with no attention to my instructions whatsoever. as i noticed him chopping away at my hair and my ears becoming more prominent i put on my glasses and informed him that it wasnt what i wanted. it soon became clear that he didnt understand one word i had said because he didnt speak English. what a disaster! being located in such a diverse neighborhood like Astoria, you would think that the stylists there would know basic English so as to serve all the surrounding community and every customer off the street. when i showed my disapproval of the haircut he had given me and tried to give him further directions he got upset and just got lazy. the results were so bad, i had my husband shave my head the minute i got home. i will literally walk around with a scarf on my head for the next month. what a waste!
