Fantastic local restaurant. Serving riffs off of Italian/American cuisine.
The restaurant is small, with around 6 tables only.
The food is great. Lovely pasta. Nice daily specials. Sandwiches are very good. The burgers are excellent.
At the restaurant, service can be a bit of a hit or miss. The manager is hardly there and the young man often stationed as the waiter-cum-supervisor would probably rather be hanging out at a lower-east side club than doing his job.
That said, the delivery is good and a god-send to this neighborhood, which for years has been a dry desert of good food.

The is the lil' restaurant that could! This is such a find in the neighborhood that I'm always surprised that I can get a seat when I want to, and am always pleased with their high standards of service and fare. They have a good selection of items with a lot of vegetarian and healthy options. They have decent wines and I definitely recommend their sangria. In short, if you haven't tried Trufa out yet, you're definitely missing out on a real gem.

So this was the first place I had ever gone to when I first moved to the neighborhood - and I mean the very same night I moved, before even unpacking.
The scenario is this: I had just finished packing and moving within one LONG day with the help of my amazing girlfriend and we were famished. Being vegan we immediately searched around for vegan options. Score! Trufa offers a portobello burger that's vegan if you get it on multigrain bread (delicious) and without the pesto (has parmesan).
The burger was a hit! Huge, cruelty-free meaty flavors mashed well with the condiments and hefty-sized artisan multigrain bun. The fries it came with also tasted fresh.
The sangria would get a review all of it's own if that were even possible, but suffice it to say: you need everything they serve, in yo' mouf... Like now. What are you waiting for?

Went on a Sunday night for dinner with my husband. We had walked past it a couple of weeks ago and I was intrigued. The restaurant was rather small but it did not bother me at all. I order the penne vodka pasta with shrimp. My meal could have been seasoned more. It tasted rather bland. My husband had the salmon and that was amazing. We also ordered crab cakes for an appetizer which I loved even though they were rather small.
