Trattoria Bel Paese

This was an interesting experience. When you are dining here the lighting is very dark inside, super dark don't know why there were quite a few people dinning. The food tastes awesome!! I had lasagna it was beyond delicious!! and the bread and yummy garlic oil they give you to dip in was amazing too!! The food is great!! But the portions are tiny and expensive. For 16 bucks I got the smallest slice of lasagna. It was so small that if you got that at home from someone you'd look at them like they were crazy. It was very small and slim. Like a tease. This is the kind of place you go not to eat really but to look like you are not too into eating but you wanna go somewhere fancy. If you are actually hungry and have a normal appetite, this wont work. And certainly don't take a man here jeez. If you want serious portion control then ok. I ordered some homemade vanilla ice cream, it was the tiniest portion imaginable for 7 bucks! I wanted to send it back. I mean it is insane how little food you are given for so much money and the place is small inside with mainly booths and hardly any lighting so it aint fancy at all. So I don't get it. But the food is so amazing it's unfortunate it's not worth my time or money due to the child like portion sizes for insane prices.

Great food and Enzo always makes you feel like family. If you want a stuck up suit and tie dinner, go somewhere else. This place is about 1 thing only, AUTHENTIC Southern Italian Food! Best in NJ!

they used to have decent food for a reasonable price although you had to deal with the obnoxious owner (who could be fine one day and a lunatic the next) and sub par decor. i think they recently changed ownership, but the food has gotten worse. we ordered their takeout specials for dinner and they were not good. you would have better luck at lunch time with their sandwiches and deli counter.

in june pass went to restauran little food they service more expencive and the taste is terrible now that's what happens.

I had the Tilapia Francaise and it was great! Would recommend to anyone. The service was speedy and very friendly staff.
