Not the best prices although a little better then others. Very cocky workers and some have such an odd Sense of humor. The website is hard to navigate. The store is not impressive at all. Ken Jr is an odd one at the store. They watch you a lot and seem to get excited when a patron walks in. Cheers

Just called this store to get some help. The guy who answered the phone was a sarcastic jerk and completely unhelpful. I told him that it was really unpleasant speaking to him and he clearly didn't care. He contradicted himself several times for no other purpose than to be antagonistic.
I came away from this experience with no assistance or insight about trains. Looks like I will be making my purchase elsewhere.
I would avoid these guys like the plague.

I visited TrainLand only once around January of this year, It was a memorable experience but more in the sense of a Vietnam flashback when I'd have preferred a halcyon recollection of my childhood. I went because of it's proximity to where my Girlfriend was living in Rockville Centre, thus I took her with me- upon being assisted by an older staffer he greeted us with a rather sarcastic attitude. His demeanor would eventually devolve over the course of our conversation, first when he questioned what I truly wanted to purchase from the store when I was originally quite sure (looking for some new O-72 curves) and then later when he questioned whether my Girlfriend had any right to be in the store considering her gender. This included some rather offensive sexist remarks, followed by his assurance that "being offensive and politically incorrect is good" because not enough people do it anymore these days- constantly mentioning that this was a trait he'd instilled in his grandson.
My girlfriend, being rather thick skinned did verbally remark some distaste for the situation at the time, but regrettably in the end I did purchase two pieces of track and perhaps some used track from the codger. To this day I regret my decision to remain passive in this situation, doing so leads to the prolongation of sexism, misogyny and other worthless societal vestiges that our clerk had managed to dredge up from wherever he came. True men empower women, or just generally ANYONE to pursue their interests rather than dissuade them, especially in a dying hobby like Model Railroading. Regardless of which I can only wish that he gets the help he needs in controlling his attitude and perhaps any measures to reduce a case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which he may have obtained in fighting for the freedom of our country in the past.
I will do my best to avoid TrainLand when building the rest of my layout, and just as a reference to anyone who may have encountered a similarly hostile experience as I have dealt with- I can say (not as a statement of endorsement) that the staff at Willis Hobbies in neighboring Mineola has treated both myself and my girlfriend excellently in our trips there in the past.

I know little to nothing about trains. The entire Train Land Staff was great, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They even went out of their way to help me find the perfect train for my family. I am grateful for stopping in. Ken was very nice, he even showed me how the train lights up and how they operate. Thanks to Train Land for giving me a great experience, and introducing me to how exciting trains can be!
