I honestly don't know about this place anymore for service. Majority of times I go there for an oil change I end up being up sold on other service that is recommended or that my car "needs" and end up with a bill for $700-800. How do we even know something is being flushed or just drained and refilled which costs a lot less. Last time I went for regular service unrelated to this they recommended "flushing" my transmission fluid and differential fluid. My car isn't driven hard and it has low mileage so how can my differential fluid be so dirty that it needs to be flushed and not just drained and refilled for less cost? I hope to god they are actually doing what there saying because I'm thinking about installing hidden cameras in my car to keep dealerships honest. I don't mind paying extra for dealer service but it just seems that the up selling is a little bit ridiculous over here as it is at all dealerships. But being a loyal customer they need to show just a little respect for my wallet as they get all my service business since I bought the car new. I'd actually like to be shown my transmission and differential fluid is actually "dirty" FIRST before I pay $500 for these fluids to be "flushed" and refilled. I didn't bother pushing it or asking to see the fluids because it was early I was tired and I had already been there over an hour waiting for the regular service to be done so I did pay for the "flush job." I'm a very loyal customer who drives an hour out of my way to go here because I can't trust the Subaru dealer located right next to me after a bad experience there(my first and last time I went) which I called them out on and they just acted like nothing happened (I did get refunded at that dump). I'm going to have to seriously consider where my future sevice business is done after this last experience. A regular drain and refill of transmission and differential fluid would have probably cost about $100-200 vs the "flush" at around $500. Why don't they ever offer to show us these "dirty" fluids? Make this and every dealer PROVE to you FIRST that your fluids are "dirty" and you need the "flush" as opposed to the simple drain and refill before you let them flush your money down the drain like they just did with mine.
I'd like to add that day I had a $126 credit that Town Subaru gave me for being a long time customer ( I believe it's some kind of points program that builds up depending on how much service you've done) and when I made my service appointment online I mentioned in the notes section that I'd like to apply that $126 to my service for that day. Then when I got to Town Subaru I told my service advisor that I have that $126 credit which I'd like to apply for that day's service, he said no problem. When my service was done 4 HOURS LATER and I went to pay that same service advisor he did not apply that credit. I had to remind him AGAIN. So after 4 hours of waiting I had to remind this sorry sack how to do his job. Did he forget on purpose? My guess is yes or he's just extremely stupid and lazy. This particular service advisor acts like he's literally retarded. It's gotta be an act, no one is that stupid or incompetent. This is really, really bad business. I've been coming here for 6 straight years and 95% of that time I let them do whatever they say needs to be done to my car. I'm going to personally go over and inspect my car tomorrow and make sure every fluid and filter that Town Subaru changed, flushed or refilled was actually done. I will also be checking to make sure that anything else that was ever done over there was actually done. Subaru's last a long, long time if regular oil changes and regular minor maintenance service is actually done. I'll be making sure I've been getting what I've paid for all these years. I'm hoping my car wasn't sabotaged, I'll know tomorrow or by Monday at the latest. I'm pissed off.
I just popped the hood to my to my car and I see the power steering fluid level is way too high. I paid EXTRA for a power steering "flush" from Town Subaru recently. Getting my car REINSPECTED!
