Nice town bar in Rye, it's quiet. Still expensive though.

The atmosphere is great and very friendly. Food is great and the menu is very people friendly with something for everyone. As far as the staff goes, you can't find a better group if you tried. We have been patrons at the Town Dock for years and hope to continue. I read a "review" by a disgruntled patron from 2 years ago and it seems like a case of "SOUR GRAPES" to me, maybe a personal axe to grind. I think you will enjoy your experience at the Town Dock.

- Terrible #97315
I had been to the Town Dock Tavern many times over the years. I was not in the area for about 1 year and thought, "Geez, let's stop in for lunch." Well, the place sure has changed. The waitress a very young girl, came to our table quickly and served our drinks quickly. Then took our order. 25 minutes later, no waitress and no food. She finally came back with our food and the bread was visibly burnt/charred on both sides.ANYONE COULD PLAINLY SEE THIS! Both plates, my friends and MINE. Okay, she dropped it on the table..asked if we needed anything else. We looked at each in shock and just shook our heads.."No"..She walked by 15 minutes later, but said nothing and barely looked at us.. Another 20 minutes later a Latino man comes by and takes the dishes asks us if we wanted the check, we said yes. He brought the check over quickly. I paid cash and left the waitress a 10% tip, in quarters as I had no more singles left. We left the restaurant and this short older woman (short gray hair and glasses..lots of wrinkles..think was girl's mother..) bangs on my car window violently. We roll down the window like HUH? She says I did not leave enough tip for the girl. I said she wasn't even around and the food was terrible. That I had spent a lot of money there in the past, and food was fine. Today, horrible. She said I should've complained about the food to waitress. HOW!? SHE WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND? DUHH! And she added don't ever come back (Not being the owner, I do think that is beyond nervy on her part! And something the owner of an establishment would never say. They would ask how to improve the place.) Well, I called the restaurant and asked to speak to bartender, I thought he was the owner. He was not. I asked if older woman was owner..He said she was not..owner was not there this evening. With the older woman urging him on in the background (quite plainly to be heard) he said I should've left the girl 15% tip as she has rent to pay. AHH, A TIP IS BASED UPON PERFORMANCE, NOT HOW MUCH ONE PAYS IN RENT.. HELLO! I asked him the older woman's name, he said he did not know as he just started there. I asked him if she was the girl's mother. He said he didn't know..he said his name was Louis and the owner is Anthony. Anthony would be in on Tuesday. I said I will call Anthony on Tuesday. ANTHONY I am a business owner, several stores. Okay..when you are not there the place runs amuck! Anthony, violent waitresses (I literally was driving away with her still banging on my window!), poor service, poor food quality, nasty, no interest in a customer's satisfaction (DON'T COME BACK AGAIN!). Well all of this does not spell success. I have spent a lot of money there over the years. No common courtesy from your workers!! And these are tough times, people do not go out as much! You need a manager there at all times watching everyone and everything. Those waitresses!! Yikes..I am sure they are scaring many people away. I am positive I am not the only one to encounter this abuse.
