TOTSVILLE CHILDCARE LEARNING CENTER

This is worse daycare I ever heard of. My wife worked there for a month thank God she quit. She would tell e how she was constantly out of ratio, not enough milk, or food for the kids. Like 2 year olds eat more than three chicken nuggets. They never had enough staff to cover lunch breaks or when teachers were ready to go home they would combine older with younger and vice versa. And had to buy her own supplies. There would be days they would get cereal from cups because they had no bowls. This place needs to be shut down, and brought by ppl who know how to run a school. I mean you have the Secretary working in the classroom, in certified teachers teaching a classroom. Directors that are out of the building more than they are in and owners never there.

Totsville childcare in Union Beach is wonderful! Although you cannot please everyone they have pleased me and my family. My children love it there and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. My
tuition has never increased, my children get free meals, juice, milk, and snacks. As a parent on state subsidy (after losing my job), I am not paying any copayment, excess fees, and my kids got free diapers, wipes, and formula when they were younger. I wish I could keep my children there instead of taking him to public school. I'm screaming from the roof top about the facility. Tour Totsville and make your own judgment, you won' t be sorry!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Totsville Childcare Learning Center is! I have 2 daughters that have been in daycare centers in Union Beach and Keansburg and Totsville is by far the best. I had awful experiences in the previous daycare centers. However, I'm extremely happy with Totsville.There are several reasons for that. Their staff is truly passionate about educating and nurturing children. You can hear it in their voice on the phone and see it in their demeanor in person. They are is dedicated to each child in her care and determined to teach each child in the way that best suits their needs. They make learning fun and has a knack for sneaking in learning moments when the children don't even realize it. So, when your child comes home from TCHLC and says they didn't learn anything that day--trust me...they have, they just didn't know that they have snuck in an important lesson. When you least expect it, your child will bust out with some fact or tidbit of information.

I will not send my children anywhere else and I highly recommend Totsville Childcare Learning Center to my family and friends, and basically to anyone!

I love, and my daughter loves, Totsville Childcare. Their staff is caring, warm, educated, knowledgeable, and experienced. They communicate very well via email regarding special activities, weekly reviews, menus for the week, and they send pictures as well. My son has learned all the basics he needs to know for kindergarten and then some. Just a wonderful daycare and preschool.
In addition, I even get safety and security updates that I find very valuable. The last email I received had a great article on how to safeguard my personal information on social media. A must read for all families with children. Great Job!

When I toured Totsville while looking for a preschool for my, at the time, 3 yr old, I finally felt at ease because the school seemed to have a good curriculum, the staff seemed nice, the Director seemed to really care and be running a "tight ship"... FAST FORWARD TO PRESENT --- My son is now 4 years old and he will NEVER step foot in the TOTSVILLE PROGRAM AGAIN!
When my son was in the 3 yr old room, there were times that he would come home and tell me that another kid hit him, I'd call them and ask why I was being told about this from my 3 yr old and not his teacher and they said well it didn't leave a mark (OK fine I would think), another time I dropped him off and they had older kids from the public school in his 3 yr old room because public school was that day (MY SON WAS PUMMELED and I ENDED UP HAVING TO PICK HIM UP EARLY THAT DAY BECAUSE HE WOULDNT STOP CRYING), another time I dropped him off to his class and his teacher (one that I never met before because the 3 yr old room was a revolving door of teachers aides) was on a personal call on her CELL PHONE! I reported these issues to the director and he always seemed to "try" to correct the issues. When I was finally ready to pull my son, they moved him up to the 4 yr old room because they said he was a "mature" 3 and was about to turn 4. The only reason my son stayed after that was because he formed a great relationship with the ONLY GOOD TEACHER THEY HAD THERE (He is no longer there because of all the issues I am about to tell you) --- I heard from many sources over this past summer (my son was on summer break) that there was ratio issues, a maintenance person covering a classroom when they were short staffed, and staff members FIGHTING in front of children!!!! I called to talk to the DIRECTOR and he blew smoke up my you know what saying that was just disgruntled parents/staff telling me these things! I called the STATE (THIS IS PUBLIC RECORD PLEASE KNOW YOU CAN CALL THE STATE AND ASK FOR A FILE REVIEW ON ANY DAY CARE/PRESCHOOL IN NJ) and they gave me citations dating back to 2011 that were all substantiated which included: Administrative issues (bookkeeping/record keeping), program issues (curriculum issues), supervision issues, ratio issues (too many kids to each teacher), over use of facility (too many kids in the building PERIOD), over discipline of students (Feb 2015/April 2015 - staff put her hands on a child and threw them to the ground - screaming at children loudly), nutrition issues, rest issues, hygiene issues in the infant room, every possible category they could have been cited for THEY WERE! O wait no I am wrong, they were not CITED on BUILDING MAINTENACE, isn't that nice? I actually thought I was being "PUNKED" when I was talking with a SUPERVISOR FROM THE STATE ABOUT THIS SCHOOL and she validated that I made the right decision on pulling my son!!! NO PARENT SHOULD SEND THEIR CHILD TO TOTSVILLE AND IN MY OPINION THEIR DOORS SHOULD CLOSE FOR GOOD!
