Tokyo Ya is an okay option if you're in the area, and don't really feel like having Chinese food. They have their random chow fun dishes, but they also have ramen, sushi, and some Japanese rice dishes.
I came in with my parents on a Sunday at almost 3 and the place was empty except for one table dining. It was also a weird time to be eating lunch though. We made it just in time for the lunch special, which is from 11 to 3.
For $7.50, you get a combo of a bowl of ramen and a sushi roll (only a select few to choose from for each). I went with the roast pork ramen and the Alaska roll. The roast pork and the broth were just okay, at best. Then again, I wasn't really expecting to be blown away. The ramen was pretty good. It tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The sushi was underwhelming. It came with four pieces and there was so little fish in there, I'm not even sure if there was any.
Tokya Ya isn't a place I would come seek out ramen or sushi for. But for times when I'm nearby and am sick of dim sum, I'd probably check this place out again.
