Thorne Middle School

The rules "No Chewing Gum Allowed In Class!" and "No Phones In Class!" should be applied to teachers, too. I can't tell you how many times I've raised my hand to ask for help and the teachers are too busy texting or how many times I've tried to do my work while listening to teachers chewing away. The favoritism amongst teachers and students here is truly astonishing. It's not an awful school, although some may disagree, but I can't wait to get the hell out.

I recently read a report that has a quote from district superintendent William O. George that states the following “Although the student is welcome to return to Thorne Middle School for the 2014-2015 school year, we are now in the process of investigating alternative placements at the parent’s request.… This student is welcome at Thorne, and if she chooses to attend Thorne, she would be treated with the respect and inclusive opportunities that all students deserve.” Yet clearly you people are not willing to do this whatsoever. In the same article that I read, the following statement was also said,"since informing Thorne Middle School in Port Monmouth, New Jersey, about Rachel’s transition, school officials told her that Rachel had to return in September as Brian or not return at all. And while Peters offered up the option of Rachel using the nurse’s bathroom instead of the girls’ bathroom, she claims that that request was denied and Rachel would be forced to use boys’ bathroom if she attended school. In the interview with the newspaper, Peters also said she was told that Rachel’s presence would upset the school’s boy-girl ratio and that standardized tests would require her to use her legal name and gender." Clearly, you are NOT willing to try to accept her for who she is as a person and a student of your shitty school district. I suggest that you change your approach and develop a god damn conscience, and start accepting her for who she is, and allow her to go to your school as the person she wants to be.

The staff are a bunch of bigoted assholes who can't accept the fact that transgender people are people too.

Athletic programs seem to have all information updated. However, 2 full weeks of school and unfortunately the online school calendar still not updated with proper half-days vs. days off for September. And no info regarding the hours of back-to-school night.
