I have been meaning to visit this place for 25 years and finally stopped in about two months ago. After a thoroughly fascinating tour I went straight home and made a donation to the museum! It's a miracle that this house has survived for hundreds of years and we are fortunate it is now under the watchful eye of the Wyckoff Museum. For you cyclists, there's a nice bike lane along Clarendon Road--about a 45 minute trip from the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Very cool old farmhouse all the way out in Brooklyn. Not just a little bit old, the oldest! It goes back 341 years. Its by tour only, but they have seasonal events in the garden and you can check out the house then as well. A cool look into Brooklyn's history. Only advice- bring your car, its a train and bus ride away, but parking is easy enough in the neighborhood.

I Love museums. My husband does not, but when we finished our tour, he said it was the most enjoyable time he'd ever had and if all museums were like that, he'd go with me to every one. We had an excellent guide with a passion for sharing accurate history and fascinating facts. The house itself if truly a testament to early American perseverance and hard-work. I'm so glad this piece of history has remained. Thank you Wyckoff Assn for restoring and preserving this treausre!
