The Ten Bells

So, maybe I went on an off night because this place has some great reviews but....

Oysters were not shucked correctly. Grit and shells in every oyster. Every oyster!! I love oysters so I just dipped them in my water before eating them but why god why let someone that has zero skill do that to delicious oysters? Not to mention it took forever to get them ( we were a party of 2 and only the third table seated. They were not busy. What really made me give a bad review is that after all that, it was hard to get the attention of staff and they never asked how the food was. Never once came back to the table to check. That seems odd for a well reviewed place. Dunno. Seating was barstool etc. but the music was jazz and nice which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I really wanted this to be worth the 20 min can ride...sigh

Papas bravas? You mean frozen breakfast potatoes with cheeze whiz and sriracha...thats quite the rip-off you get at The ten bells. Pulp? Couldnt find it in all the paprika powder everywhere. Looked like sausages to me.
Wine list? Sure, could you suggest or advise on the 5 pages wine you have?

Grreat experience. Really.

Incredibly vast wine list. Had a few fortified wines that were great. the tapas are good here too. Meatballs are nice. They have a great take on patatas bravas. Not oily and not too spicy. Good mac n cheese made with great quality cheese. The $1 oysters for happy hour are what keep me going back. # different types everyday. The space is small so get there early to grab a table or a good seat at the bar.
