As a long-time guest, I want to love The Standard, but unfortunately it seems that service and facilities have declined. While each of these moments were minor individually, collectively I felt that the experience was subpar from what I had come to expect over the years.

When I arrived at the hotel, a gentleman did offer to help with my luggage but then after I checked in, he was nowhere to be found, so I ended up schlepping my own lugagge to my room. No big deal, but why even offer to assist if you're just going to dump my luggage in a cart in the hallway and leave?

My room was suitable, but the door handle was a bit loose and the drain in the shower was exceptionally slow. Overall these rooms could definitely do with some maintenance / upgrades.

The service elevator seemed to be out of commission, so the remaining elevators were constantly crowded with carts of food and luggage. It's not a pleasant experience to ride up 11 floors in crowded hot elevator with French fries.

The staff also seems completely uninterested in helping to flag down taxis. They were obviously too busy talking amongst themselves to be bothered with assisting guests.

Sadly, it may finally be time to find an alternative, where service and quality is a bit more of a priority.

The place is seriously amazing. Hotel rooms are perfect. The 'Boom Boom Room' is awesome for sunset drinks. Book ahead for a designated table. The bar and grill is ideal for breakfast. And then there is the rest of the meatpacking district to check out.

- Very Good #13893
Great hotel, very hip and has a really nice restaurants/bier garden. The place overall is a bit pricey, but service was good. Rooms are pretty small, but they have everything you need in them.

All of their outdoor space is still useable in the winter because of ceiling heaters, which was pretty awesome.

The only complaint was that they were down to just 1 elevator for a few hours (2 were blocked off for an event, 1 was under maintenance) when we were there. It caused a huge back-up getting to rooms until they opened the others up again.

Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Booked the superior King room. Firstly, the view is amazing. The room is decorated beautifully and designed perfectly. Floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful seating area. The bed was extremely comfortable with soft pillows. Staff is nice and attentive, the hotel is honesty very progressive. But just be aware the shower is open to the room there is no curtain or anything covering you.

Really an amazing hotel, recommend the higher floors.

Only beef is that the elevators play weird videos lol

Great location - the Meat Packing district is super interesting.
The elevator ride is unique. The gym is full of cardio equipment. The rooms have great floor to ceiling windows. The shower is well appointed.
There is no privacy in the shower for the rest of the room - which may bother some. The curtains don't provide full black out. It's noisy! Not only can you hear the club from upstairs, but you can hear traffic noise. They supply you with ear plugs - which is good.
Not sure it's worth the per night price tag.
