This is a wonderful monument, beautifully presented. As the informational plaque states, the statue, now damaged, once stood in between the World Trade Center towers.

I believe this used to be a monument or statue that used to be in one of the World Trade Center Tower and was damaged in 9/11. When you're there you see the sphere as well as an eternal flame for the first responders lost on 9/11. It's a very moving place to be. The only downside are a large number of tourists crowding around for pictures but that's NYC for you!

A monument that used to stand at the World Trade Center and was damaged in the September 11 attacks. The damage is evident on the top and it now stands as a monument to those lost. Still a beautiful and poignant tribute.
