The Smilist Dental - Woodside

I have an abscessed tooth and my dentist recently retired. Following his suggestion, I went to The Smilist. COMPLETE MISTAKE. First appointment kept me waiting over 30 minutes because no one had a key to the front door.

Second had me waiting over an hour. When I was taken back to the office, the DA commented that I came in "very early" because my appointment was 11:20am. I showed her the text received confirming my appointment for 10am. Incensed, I asked who was in charge and was told "the front desk". When I went back out to speak to the woman at the front desk, I was told that the "girls in the back don't know what they are doing". Since the dentist is female, I took that as good advice and left.

Never have I been to a dentist office, where the dentist is not in charge and accountable for the experience. They should rethink the name of the practice - perhaps the Frownist?

My experience with Dr Maria and her staff is excellent Dr Maria is highly competent,skillful and gentle, Her staff is highly professional, efficient and very courteous.

I came here a while ago, became a regular customer because the dentist was so gentle, and then stopped going because it didn't feel so pleasant during their construction (the noise, the dust all over the place, black garbage bags hanging and separating construction area from where the patients were seen,…). It looks like it took them a long time to finish with their project. I switched two dentists during that time. A few weeks ago I got an email from them where they talked about their renovated office and all, so I went back. I am so thankful that they kept my file and brought me back. The place looks brand new, the rooms are clean, a lot of new staff. The only thing that’s old is same old spirit of care and extreme friendliness. Best dental office!!! (and I’ve been to a few)

I have never been a fan of the dentist. Besides, i needed a deep cleaning, as per previous dentist. Right, painfull??? WRONG!!! I can't wait to come back to this dentist. The staff is incredibly amazing and friendly. Dr. Shimanov is extremily proffessional, friendly, and possibly the best dentist in NYC. A+++ in every possible way.

Everything about this office is awesome. From the moment I called to make my appointment I knew I was in good hands due to how friendly the staff is. They are caring and want to do anything they can to give you a positive experience.
