Great acoustics for a radial play

A funky little gem of a local theatre that's quick and easy to get to from Manhattan - and, btw, just a stone's throw from the excellent PS 1 MOMA museum and only a mile form the also way cool Museum of the Moving Image - so you can make a great cultural day in the area on a modest budget... ...with this as the after dinner treat!
Just saw their current electric production of Macbeth and the space is full of a vibe of a lot of creative spirits injecting positive energy into it over a period of years like the way a well-played violin gets a better sound over time.
Inexpensive, intimate - the first row of chairs is on the floor of the main stage - we were five feet from the King of Scotland (!) - and I'm inclined to follow their schedule and go again.

The Secret Theatre is a sweet, hidden theatre that's surprisingly convenient to get to- close to the G/7/E/M/R/N or Q and not far from the F- and is constantly showcasing an array of shows for any type of show-goer. We especially love the Late Night Series because Guilty Pleasures Burlesque has an entertaining variety show on the last Saturday of the month, every other month ;)

I visited the theatre to see a great production of The Imaginary Invalid back in May and thought the production was outstanding. I later saw a review of that show in Backstage which basically agreed. I couldn't believe the vicious, nasty comment that was left previously. More importantly I couldn't understand it. The theatre is charming and typical for this kind of black box. I certainly didn't think it was either smelly or dirty. It is true that there is no central air but on the evening we visited the a/c was fine.
