Reviews to The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation & Healing Center
We bring in recreation and entertainment to the residents twice a month.
The staff care for the patients there and from time to time have to deal with residents who are difficult.
This is what it is to live in a place like this. There are ups and there are downs!
Think twice before you post something miserable about a facility like Riverside Rehab.

river side drive is the worst place to visit, well Tameka Cooper and I spoke to the head nurse on the fifth floor she was good at the moment
Until things got really ugly, Frances shouted and accused me of putting words in Mr Barton's mouth she doesn't know me like that, she's rude and disrespectful, she's the soscial worker for the fith floor, well some time ago Tameka Cooper approached Frances in the lobby one evening to speak on a matter, Frances shouted to MS. Cooper and said loudly in the lobby around security guards saying shut up and sit down, well Tameka Cooper was very hurt and upset this woman needs her license revoked, I don't believe she's visually impaired, I think she only says that to get close to you. like I said she's street wise but no commen sense. P. S.. Would you like someone like Frances yelling at friends and familys like that.

Let me start with the positive... They are revamping the facility and have made significant improvements to various floors. Some rooms have a good view of Riverside Park and Hudson River, which is nice. The Solarium on the Penthouse floor is nice for gatherings or to just enjoy some sunshine on a cold winter day. I appreciate the effort the recreation staff put into providing activities for the residents, but the facility is far from being state of the art. Unfortunately, the patient care associates lack professionalism and at times could practice more empathetic and compassionate care to our loved ones. There is no team work at Riverside Premier Rehab and Healing Center. One day I asked for assistance with a piece of equipment in my loved one's room and the PCA told me to speak with the nurse. When I spoke with the nurse, the nurse went off on a tangent that it was not their job to assist me with engineering request. Continued to rant about it being the PCA's job to open an engineering request. Awful customer service and it still took a second separate request from me to resolve the issue.
Now, the website states that it offers an expansive program of therapies both standard and unique. The program is designed to help you regain mobility and independence, with a focus on helping you reintegrate into your familiar daily routine. This may be their vision but far from reality. The rehabilitation rooms are out of date, equipment is lacking or broken. The worse part is the lack of enthusiasm from the rehabilitation therapists and the departments organization. I've yet to see a progress report or goal settings for my loved one to achieve. And, we've been at this facility over a month, but due to insurance limitations we have limited to zero alternatives. I'll give an example on how engaged these therapists are in my loved one's recovery, a therapist asked my loved one to do an exercise and asked me to watch my loved one while they stepped out of the room. Of course I accepted to help my loved one, but once my loved one was done with the exercise I went to look for the therapist and she was outside in the hallway on her smart phone. On numerous occasions the therapists are outside or on the sidelines discussing their personal lives with one another instead of being engaged with the patients exercise. On a few occasions I witnessed the therapist to be snarky and rude to patients. Almost discouraging. Of course there are a few good and caring therapist at this facility, but these individuals mostly fill in for when the permanent therapist are out of the office. At this facility therapist do not listen to the patient, it is difficult to nearly impossible to have a schedule and a set daily therapy routine. Be warned, most of the therapy provided is passive treatment like massages, which feel good and are important to therapy, but sometimes are the only therapy given. Therapy department lacks personal attention and care. Most of the time the therapists are double booked ending in less personal attention for patients. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

DISGUSTING.
This facility is staffed by extremely unorganized and unreliable people. Patient care is terrible. This facility needs to get shut down.
