The Regent at Liberty Harbor

I have lived here for 7 years now and the area just keeps getting better. My complex is really nice and the roof pool is just like being at a toned down version of a Vegas pool party. It is nice to see all of the other residents lounging by the pool on a hot day. It is also an opportunity to find some close by booty calls. I have hooked up with a lot of sexy guys just by hanging out at the pool with my friends. One of the best things about this place is that a lot of the younger residents are a little more transient so even when I have hooked up with someone and lose interest most of the time they move out in a few months and I don't have to be bothered by them pestering me.

The pool is not heated and there are not any lifeguards so it makes it super easy to bring a cooler filled with alcohol and occasionally you will see people having to be carried back to their apartments. I love this place!

1. They will steal money from your security deposit. This is just a fact. They got me with bogus reasons like "scratched floor tile". I WISH I was kidding about this. Pretty much, you will need to get your apartment professionally cleaned prior to moving out, but even then they WILL find reasons to take your money. Considering that you pay almost 2 months rent for the deposit, that is a lot of money that they have available to steal from you.

2. Rent is way too high for this neighborhood. I paid more than anyone in the nearby Grove St area. Also, There's no insulation so your heating and cooling costs are very high. I paid $260 one month for electric this past winter and I was only renting a small STUDIO apartment.

3. There was construction next door ALL YEAR LONG. Many times, the entrance to my own parking garage was blocked by construction vehicles. That is annoying when you are paying $200 for parking per month.

4. The pool is only open 2 months out of the year, June and July. The gym is decent. Building is usually quiet, unless your neighbor plays music which you can easily hear through the thin walls.

5. You WILL hear drunk people yelling as they come out of Zepplin Hall at night.

6. Ants. Aggressive ants.

Bottom line is, I'm really glad I'm out of there.

Some good parts are that the Light Rail is close by, and the staff is friendly and nice. Package delivery is very secure, and there is a 24hour doorman, also a great plus.
