@ej shortell: The Reformed Church of Newtown has never changed its religious affliation. It was established as a congregation of the Protestant Dutch Reformed Church denomination. In 1867, the denomination changed to its current name, the Reformed Church of America (RCA). Some mistakenly believe that the church changed denominations because it is no longer majority Dutch or English i.e. White. Not true. While the church is now comprised largely of immigrants, it remains in good standing as a congregation of the Queens Classis of the RCA. As for the church itself, I recommend it highly!
