I was referred to The Perfect Fit by another customer who lives nearby my home. The head seamstress/clothing-designer there, named Soila, is an extremely hard working and dedicated person. Her attention to detail is exceptional. I learned that her background is extensive in the art of dress making and clothing design, and it is no surprise. I've brought in a number of garments to have upgraded with customizations, and not only has she been able to implement them with first rate quality, she has also been able to improvise where needed with great results.
Of course, they also do basic garment alterations and repairs. In these tough economic times, it's better to have a garment repaired instead of tossing it out for a new one. The Perfect Fit has fixed up a number of clothing items for me, giving them a "life extension" for at least a couple more years. And all at prices I'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
The store is rather small, and not impressive in that regard, but this is in strong contrast to the service you get at The Perfect Fit. It's also very easy to find. When you come into the Galaxy Mall from Boulevard East, you turn to your right and follow the corridor along as it curves to the left. The Perfect Fit is directly on your left. There is usually decent parking on the street, but you can also park inside the Mall parking garage and get your ticket validated for free by The Perfect Fit.
I strongly recommend this business for any garment alterations, repair, and customizations. Two thumbs up!! :-)

I called this afternoon for a price quote and was told approximately $50 to take in a dress for a special event with quick turnaround. This tailor shop is located in the relatively bare Galaxy Mall. Downstairs most of the tenant store fronts are empty. It's a tiny little shop, with clothes hanging all about. I had been told that there were dress makers on premise, but I really didn't see any dresses. The fitting went very smoothly and quickly. I left with a receipt and the price was confirmed on the ticket. Perhaps the seamstress and the other fellow I'd been dealing with needed to communicate better right then and there. However, a couple of hours later as they were closing they called to say that they had revised the amount of work necessary and would now require $80. Since this is a $200 dress that I bought for a wedding in which I am a bridesmaid I really don't see paying that much. Moreover, the dress is constructed to facilitate altereration as part of the Ann Taylor special occasion line. Due to my very tight deadline (just moved to the area) and the wedding is next week -- I wasted a whole (Saturday!) day with this. I didn't care for the shop, there was no evidence while I was there that this shop does fine tailoring. If however you have a pair of slacks or some other casual wear that you need a basic alteration done on I see no problem. Just be sure that you get a price that you agree with after the consultation. Another point, clearly this shop doesn't alter a lot of nice dresses or this wouldn't have been such a production with the pricing.
