Reviews to The Palm Court
A dear friend and I stopped by the Palm Court for drinks/appetizers and ended up staying for several hours because we had such a lovely time. The bartender (Eddie) was very professional and attentive to our needs (before we even we actually needed anything!) I am not a big drinker but he asked me a few questions and came up with the perfect NYC specialty drink that was awesome so I had a few! Thank you Eddie and the staff of the Palm Court for making our New York City experience one to remember!

This is a beautiful, historic NYC establishment trading off its former glory. If you've got a spare couple of $hundred it's a lovely place to go for cocktails, but plan to eat elsewhere.
I took my mother for a birthday treat while we were visiting NY from the UK - wine was good, cocktails were nice, but the olives were provided without cocktails sticks or a pip bowl - something we thought was a bit neglectful for such a famous place.
That was just the start. We ordered a platter of meze style dishes (not the most expensive on the menu - "just" $55 per head) but the food was inedible we had to send tit back. Crisps cooked in old oil; a few fatty, greasy meatballs; a dish of peppers far beyond the level of "picante" they described them as; cheap chicken wings topped in jalapenos (so also inedible for those who don't like hot dishes - nothing to this effect on the menu); and a pot of lettuce (the only edible bit. We kept that).
To their only credit, the manager himself did come out to personal remove the offending offering, and asked if we wanted something else. We declined - the kitchen clearly wasn't up to the job - and they removed the food from the bill. A couple of glasses of wine on the house might have prevented this review too - their customer service really didn't impress us.
I wouldn't recommend this at all, except for maybe to pop in and have a quick glass at the bar, and then move on to one of the countless excellent bars and restaurants in NYC.
Oh, and it's a loooong way from your table to the restrooms - take walking shoes and expedition gear.

Enjoying tea is one of my favorite activities. While this location is steeped in history, such as a frequent place for Frank Sinatra, it's not as grand as other tea establishments (e.g., Palace Hotel of SF). Plus, it's in the center of the hotel, so passersby can watch you eat.

Watch Out.
7 members of our family went to Tea. Food was OK. Service was good. The menu offers the option of champagne for $22.00. The menu does not state that this is for the First glass or A glass. But it is!
The bill came with an additional $352 for 16 Additional Champagne. Those friendly 'top-offs'
The manager came to explain that we were hicks and do not know how to read. Very unfriendly and condescending.
They also will not return my phone calls

This is probably because I'm a not a girl and have dreamed of eating here, but I had some trouble understanding what was so great about this place. I came here for "high tea" and the tea and snacks/pastries they bring out were all top-notch, but the price is absurd. There was nothing I ate that really stood out. I can see how for a ladies afternoon out, this might be fun, but I guess it's just not for me.
