This place is a great concept: LGBT-centric hotel in Hell's Kitchen area. The outside was nice and immediate entry is neat/modern looking. As you walk to your room you feel like you are in Alice in Wonderland with a curvy hallway which is cool, but the electric cords for the lights/art is falling out of the base of the wall making it look unkept. Swimming area is enclosed with open air area to lay out in during nice days. We did not use swimming area for this trip.

Room was interesting. Modern low-level furniture was neat. The tv had cords coming out of it and I had to reconnect them myself and reset the IPTV for it to work, once it worked it worked well (but doesn't have a functional sleep timer). The smoke detector had a grocery sack around it which is just bad. The outdoor deck was neat and let friendly with turf, but had brown staining on it.
There was no ironing board, but there was an iron. The iron unfortunately spit black stuff on my white shirt and rendered it unwearable. The soap in the shower smelled nice but takes forever to dispense (namely body wash) and does not get sudsy. The nightclub was right below us and we could hear the bass at night. That noise was muffled though over the sound of the heater. It was an annoyance but bearable.

I expected a lot more from this place but was unfortunately disappointed. Oh well.

Update on 2/22/16: We arrived on 2/20/16 and now on Monday, 2/22 we were contacted by the hotel saying we owe them $200 for tampering with the smoke detector. Not only did we have a faulty room, but now they are trying to charge us for someone else's tampering. Note to all people staying here, take pictures if there is something wrong! I did and it includes time stamps. I'll update pending the resolution of this issue and/or report them for violations to the city.

Update 2: We finally reached the manager and the expense was reversed. I increased the stars back to two because we were able to get everything clarified within one day, however the girl at the front desk was not pleasant on the phone. Luckily the manager was extremely pleasant.

It's an alright hotel. Most of the staff is nice. They did accomodate our two sepesrate reservations very easily which was great The bed was comfy. There were a lot of mirrors in the room which was strange and the shower was never warm. There is a club downstairs that you can hear and feel which was fine for me but others might not have liked it

I can’t stop talking about this hotel!!……Let me start by saying I’ve stayed in dozens of hotel around the world, so my standards are pretty high when it comes to hotels/motels, because I’ve stayed in ones that were really good, and ones that were really bad. THIS HOTEL IS DEFINITELY TOP NOTCH! Everything from the SUPER clean room/bathroom, the customer service, and the overall ambience of the hotel. And the price!!! I booked the room at the last minute (2 days ahead) and only paid $107/night (stayed 2 nights). This is in the heart of Manhattan/Times Square! Unbelievable! Now you don’t get an actual view of TS, but it’s just a few short blocks away……

My only complaint is that a) the gay club was closed the nights of our stay, and my best friend and I really wanted to drop in and have some fun, but that was no big deal b) all the rooms face the indoor courtyard (which is BEAUTIFUL, might i add) However, the courtyard is an open-air sitting area, and the night we stayed the temps. were in the 20s. Meaning our room was super cold & drafty, but the heat can be turned up as high as you want it, so that was really no big deal either. I also recommend stopping into the bar/restaurant in the lobby. Very pretty eatery. If you don’t feel like eating/drinking there, there are TONS of eateries, bars, restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and in Times Square as well.

You really can’t go wrong with this place. I will definitely be staying here again and recommending to others.

Great experience! The Out is in a great location, and the staff are friendly and attentive. There are a few minor maintenance issues that need attention - mostly with regard to painting and repairing some doors, but nothing too noticeable. The wifi is free and works very well; the spa/hot tub area is fantastic! Outdoor spaces are awesome with plenty of room. We will definitely be back!

OK, I'm in love. I went with my S.O for his bday and our anniversary. I mentioned to Dannie that it was a special event and when we arrived, not only were we blown away by how cute the whole hotel is, they wrote us an adorable card and had wine and cake waiting for us in the hotel room. I can't wait to go back!

The room was spacious, clean, and modern. The bathroom was lovely and very spacious as well. We stayed in the Deluxe King room. It's super close to a subway station and bus stop so transportation was an absolute breeze.
